Got some good news. Nick at Chupacabra got a H2 to develop a whole line of products for. He will also be making videos on the H2.
Yes. I’ll have to see it in person to see how it all fits and if any part of the rear of the Garmin that’s exposed could be an issue, or can water get behind it and into the dash area? The Garmin Tread itself is water proof, but I’d be more concerned with water getting behind the dash and how would it exit to the floor? That seems like a good solution to make everything fit!
Here is a Chupa update. He’s getting ready to do a 400 mile desert ride with the H2. This should give him and us a good idea of the car overall and reliability.
He talks about wheel sizes, and mentions that the rear axles right & left have two different part #’s, which is odd. If correct that’s stupid & sucks that one axle can’t be used for both sides like every other UTV. I’m also hearing these OEM axles are ridiculously expensive!
Yeah specific sides is completely dumb and then add they want $900 per axle. That can be a deal killer to buying a H2. Speed UTV axles are $700 ea and are a way more complicated design. The H2 axle is a basic non plunging radius rod style axle & cv. Nothing special!Yea, when I found out that every axle is different I was a bit surprised but when you look at the placement of the motor it makes sense. But was even more surprised that the OEM axels are $900! Hope and aftermarket one will be available soon.
The H2 axels look pretty beefy but time will tell. Let’s hope there is an aftermarket option soon. Do you think the H2 axels will be like Speed and be proprietary? Just glad we don’t have to deal with the axle greasing issue.Yeah specific sides is completely dumb and then add they want $900 per axle. That can be a deal killer to buying a H2. Both the Polaris Pro R and Can Am Mav R axles from Super ATV or Demon are $300 or less. And those are stronger than stock aftermarket axles.
I don’t think there is anything proprietary to the Kawi axles as is a non plunging axle. Speeds axle patent is questionable too, but no one wants to deal with the BS & drama that comes along with trying to make a part for Speed and with the limited amount of cars built. It does not make financial sense for a Super ATV Rhino or Demon to try to make an axle. The H2 axels look pretty beefy but time will tell. Let’s hope there is an aftermarket option soon. I hope that’s not the case! I’ll do some searching and see if I can find out.Agreed. I don’t know if it’s just my eyes but when I look at the axels you can see one side longer than the other.
