I was in the shop yesterday and the guy working on my Teryx H2 is the real deal!! I was getting some documents for the insurance underwriters and popped in to see the progress. I only took a few pictures and it's all torn down for assembling and retrofitting. Rear box, spare tire mount and spare are done, rear pod lights done and some other odds and ends.

Young gentleman doing the work is really paying attention to detail and doing a much better job than even I could!! I could tell just by looking at his toolbox and layout he knows what he is doing. Extremely organized and not missing steps. And he looks pleased to be working on my machine.

Happy I went with old school steel cable winch rather than synthetic. Other interesting observation is it is a Warn winch that Kawasaki OEM uses.

I'm also happy to have went with the dual battery setup. I have a lot of lighting and electrical on this rig. And man these look to be group 26 in size!! Darn huge.

Hoping to have it finished this week or next.

Awesome!! Now if the weather would just cool down!!
My first drive will be in the local mountains where the weather is mild. And with the lights I have options.

Already I have pre-ran some local BLM 2 track on my dual sports bikes. And good thing I did!! There is an up and back black diamond canyon I ended up turning around on my 300 2T!! The hardened (from last big rain) wheel swallowing ruts are not my idea of fun. I could turn around and ride them out with my 300. I was envisioning trying to get a 2,500lb rig unstuck. Or backing it up a quarter mile before I could turn around!!

This is a whole new ballgame of limited capability in technical terrain. Add the fact I'm as greenhorn rookie as it gets with 4 wheels in rugged off highway. Baby steps all the way. This is exciting in the fact it is just like when I was learning to ride motorcycles as a young kid.

Looking good! For your first ride I would find some nice wide open trails in the mountains or get there super early and hit the desert.

Lots of fun stuff out in Jawbone/Dove Springs/Cal City area. There should be some good stuff in the Cleveland National Forest which is close to you.
