RPM just released a 6.8 gallon tank that goes under the passenger rear seat. Looks like a pretty cool set up. Add this to the stock fuel tank and that is over 21 gallons of fuel. This will extend the range significantly and will be good for those that eventually do a E-85 tune.

Been waiting for this. I ordered mine today! I’ll be able to make it to Bar 10 no problem now…

EDIT: correct, no dual batts. But I’d rather have fuel and carry a jumpbox.

AZ strip is unforgiving for sure!! I took my beast of a Super Tenere from St George to Toroweep overlook and had fuel anxiety. Thankfully Jacob Lakes had an open fuel station.

LMFAO....... fuel anxiety....... I'm suprised Yamaha wasn't running a chase truck on this beast of an adventure!

I am too. AZ Strip is no joke. And to be honest a dual sport would have been a much better choice for that section of my 1,400 plus mile loop. Super Tenere is a very heavy bike for off road when things get rough. The last section to Toroweep Overlook is a challenge for any 650lb bike. It's on my bucket list to go on a SXS group tour. If I was ever to do this section again it would be on my 498 with a desert tank and fuel sack. You need close to a 200 mile minimum fuel supply for out there (if you are not going to stop at Bar 10). I imagine the H2 guzzles the fuel if you are mashing on the go pedal a lot.

The other thing about the AZ strip are the hundreds of miles of single track and 2 track trails that are not on a map. I had the tracks but opted to stay on the main circuits due to me being solo.

Pictures do no justice to the difficult sections and vastness of AZ Strip. And as a tip you should have your tracker on your body whenever possible in case you are separated from your bike. I mounted mine on the bike periodically in the slow sections so I could mark bailouts and ingresses to challenging sections.

My fuel mileage in the desert was decent and with this RPM tank I could see a range of 200 miles. In the dunes with the extra fuel a person running an E-85 tune would have no issues with fuel.
