I got the best performance part available just installed last week!!
I acquired a very experienced co-driver and navigator. We have been riding buddies for over a decade. He has a race spec RZR turbo 2 seater. His credentials are legitimate. Since this being my first SXS, I had him come out for a day in the desert and mountains with me and train me. Him sitting passenger most of the drive
This was the best modification hands down!! We took this rig in spots I would not ever have tried had he not been along. He showed me what kind of hills to avoid and how to use the power without breaking components. We were able to get through some black diamond trails with zero drama. I only scraped my skid plate once. We went through some pretty steep 2' plus rock steps that I would have had to get off my bike and bulldog it.
He is of the opinion to leave this rig bone stock until components wear out. Then replace with upgraded hardware as needed. He was very candid with me and stated I will do just fine as my 2 wheeled off road experience is a big plus.
The eye opener came when he got behind the wheel. I am still having a hard time controlling the throttle in full power mode when crawling or going slow. He was able to use it the whole time. I was blown away. Even in low range zero drama in full power. At no time was I scared he might do something wrong.
I'm slowly learning how to 2 foot as well. Baby steps. I asked him about the restriction Kawasaki placed on 2 footing in regards to revving for power build up. He laughed and said it's a squid move that breaks parts. At no time did either he or I feel the need for more power 2 footing to navigate obstacles. Only difference between us was I had to keep it in low power mode and use the diff lock. He was able to keep the diff open and make it over the same features in low range full power.
At the end of the day it was pointed out that I just need a bit more experience in foot pedal control and I'm using the power modes effectively. He also pointed out that he only used the full send mode to show me what the rig is capable of with a good driver.
Has anyone else here had someone ride along and help them out?
