TAPP Clutch Install

This is why I am in no rush to jump to an aftermarket clutch and will wait to see what Kawi comes up with for the fix. Belt life in the dunes did not seem to improve much with a Tapp primary. It seemed to me the Tapp secondary was making improvements, but hard to tell as everyone had to run with no cover.

I am curious to see what type of secondary Larue comes up with for the H2.
Most people with belt issues have other problems not directly related to the name on the clutch. If you were smoking belts with the stock clutch and then switch to a new primary, you may not resolve the issue. I think that's been demonstrated plenty.

Also, a lot of people simply don't know how to tune a clutch. The Tapp clutch is really easy to adjust, but there are several variables to get it tuned. It's definitely not easy if you haven't done much clutch work.

All these clutch companies and Kawasaki are just throwing darts. They used what worked before and mated it up to the shafts and sent it. They never really tested their products off the dyno before they starting selling them. The real world sometimes shows the true weaknesses of a given design, as we've found out the hard way. In this case, we probably have one of the biggest CFs I've ever seen in motorsports.

Just a update on the new inner sheave.. its working good at keeping the temperature in check. I can push the h2 as hard as i want now. Im having no problems at all. Worth the upgrade.

Been running this Gboost XC belt for last 100 miles. So far, this has been a really good belt for engagement, wear, and heat management even with temps at 100F. It has about 100 miles and very little dust in the CVT cover. Looks like it did stretch some like the WBB belt as it now has s little more deflection, but no belt slap.

It was only $150 shipped from Brute Performance and got it across country in about 6 days. So best deal I've found. I think I may order another one and this will be my spare after about 250 miles.

I'm SS365 that are 35 inch, they are quite large and weigh about the same as stock tores and wheels..

After 150 miles and a few different setups. There's no difference between OEM clutching and adding the Tapps primary. For me both were decent for but not ideal for belt temps. You just have to careful when you got hard. Probably have to add the secondary for more airflow.

This Tapps clutch is great for adjustability. If you had a belt and CVT that could move more air, it would be incredible. The clutch bites the belt hard and it launches fast. If you can manage the belt temps, its pretty damnd good.

I'm considering one of those inlet fans for the cvt inlet to see what improvements it may provide.

I tried this make shift ram air on the cvt snorkel and it worked a little better above 25 mph, buy may have been working less in the steeper technical terrain.
I know this post is pretty old, but have a look: https://www.cskperformance.com/shop/p/product-2-5c6mb-j8mng-zsl73-se8lp
